Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare work
   • Safety issues relating to operating and monitoring dust collection plant are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures, and Work, Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and legislative requirements
   • Work requirements are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures, from relevant personnel and documentation
   • Inspection and field preparation for dust collection plant service is carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
   • Dust collection plant operational prerequisites are established, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
   • Sequence for recommissioning of dust collection plant is determined, in accordance with workplace procedures and site requirements
2. Work requirements are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures, from relevant personnel and documentation
3. Inspection and field preparation for dust collection plant service is carried out, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
4. Dust collection plant operational prerequisites are established, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' recommendations
5. Sequence for recommissioning of dust collection plant is determined, in accordance with workplace procedures and site requirements
6. Operate dust collectionplant
   • Dust collection plant is operated, in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturers' operating recommendations
7. Dust collection plant is monitored and observed, in accordance with workplace procedures, to detect deviations from normal operating conditions
8. Corrective action is taken to rectify abnormalities, in accordance with workplace procedures, industry standards and site requirements
9. Test dust collectionplant operation
   • Operational tests are performed, in accordance with workplace procedures
10. Dust collection plant is observed for correct operational response, in accordance with workplace procedures
11. Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures, when dust collection plant response does not meet documentation, plant integrity or personnel safety requirements
12. Dust collection plant is returned to required operational status upon completion of testing, in accordance workplace procedures
13. Analyse dust collectionplant faults
    • Causes of abnormal dust collection plant operating conditions are identified, in accordance with workplace procedures and by analysing technical and operational information
14. Corrective action is taken, in accordance with workplace procedures
15. Dust collection plant integrity and personnel safety is maintained, in accordance with workplace procedures, and in consultation with appropriate personnel and technical and operational documentation
16. Monitor and inspect dust collectionplant
    • Dust collection plant to be monitored or inspected is physically identified, in accordance with workplace procedures
17. Dust collection plant is monitored or inspected for normal operation or to detect deviations, in accordance with workplace procedures
18. Appropriate personnel are notified when defects are detected, in accordance with workplace procedures
19. Complete documentation
    • Dust collection plant problems, movements, abnormalities and status are reported, in accordance with workplace procedures
20. Documentation is updated, in accordance with workplace procedures
